Thank You Kenny!
The Band had the honor of playing for DCFD Legend Kenny Cox. Kenny is a retired DC Fireman and longtime Local 36 Vice-President. He is responsible for many of the benefits that firefighters have today, both in the DCFD and across the country.
Thank You Kenny! It's been a long year. The last time the Band got to play together was the 2020 Annapolis St. Patrick's Day Parade. There were no parades for us this year but we did manage to get out on St. Paddy's Day. Special thanks to Eddie Conway & Garry's Grill in Severna Park, MD for giving us a place to play and to have a few cold ones together.

On October 28th the Band had the honor of playing for the funeral service of retired Marine Lt. Col. Paul Hudson. Hudson was one of three pilots killed on January 23rd when their C-130 Hercules tanker crashed while fighting wildfires in Australia. Hudson was buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
On October 27th the Band participated in the box alarm dedication for Technician Alex Graham at the DCFD Training Academy. Alex died in the line of duty after suffering a medical emergency at the academy on October 27th, 2019.
Rest In Peace Alex.
Our very own Jimmy "The Lungs" Mazzara has been touring the DC metro area lifting the spirits of those affected by the coronavirus. He's made the rounds at local hospitals and has played at numerous DC monuments. Take a look at a couple of the news stories below, complete with the Pat Collins treatment.
Jimmy has decided to start a fundraiser for the World Central Kitchen. If you want to donate, click the button below.

March started out great with the Band playing on a beautiful day in Annapolis. Unfortunately, everything has come to a screaming halt. Hopefully, everyone is stocked up with plenty of Guinness and your favorite Irish Whiskey.
We'll see you out there soon! |
