On October 28th the Band had the honor of playing for the funeral service of retired Marine Lt. Col. Paul Hudson. Hudson was one of three pilots killed on January 23rd when their C-130 Hercules tanker crashed while fighting wildfires in Australia. Hudson was buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
Our very own Jimmy "The Lungs" Mazzara has been touring the DC metro area lifting the spirits of those affected by the coronavirus. He's made the rounds at local hospitals and has played at numerous DC monuments. Take a look at a couple of the news stories below, complete with the Pat Collins treatment.
Jimmy has decided to start a fundraiser for the World Central Kitchen.

The Band has a couple changes for the upcoming season.
The new face you will see leading the Band down the street is our newest Pipe Major Scott Blevins. Scott is a newly promoted Sergeant in the Department serving previously as a Wagon Driver at 4 Engine.
Returning to the Board as Band Manager after being dragged out of retirement is Henry Welsh. Henry is a founding member of the Band and also served as our first and long-time Pipe Major.
We regret to share the sad news that Technician Alex Graham of Engine 21 passed away yesterday, after suffering a medicinal emergency this past
Thursday at the Training Academy.
Technician Graham was not only a wagon driver, but he was the small motor repair man, and helped conduct pump testing among many other things for the
DCFD Apparatus Division.
Please keep the family of Technician Graham, Past and Present Members of Engine 21, and the members of the Department in your thoughts and prayers.
Rest In Peace Alex.
