DC Pipes & Drums would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to the family of Firefighter Joyce Craig-Lewis. As well as the members of the Philadelphia Fire Department. Rest easy sister.
Tragically the Philadelphia Fire Department has suffered a Line of Duty Death. You are in the thoughts and prayers of the DCFD Pipes and Drums.
DCFD Pipes and Drums assisted in paying tribute to fallen firefighter Lt. James Bethea. The tragic day brought friends together, such as piper Westerbeck (DCFD) & piper Mike Hogan (BCFD) along with others to give Lt. Bethea a proper home coming.
The DC Fire Dept. Emerald Society Pipes and Drums would like to give our condolences to the Balitmore City Fire Dept. and to the family of Lt. James Bethea a 40 year veteran of the BCFD. Bethea answered his last alarm Nov 12th. May you rest in peace brother Bethea.
Thursday, November 13th: A fundraiser at Fado's that benefited the “Mary House” here in DC. (http://www.maryhouse.org) We sold Guinness mugs and merchandise to benefit the burn foundation. A toast was made to the 83rd LODD in DC. Pvt. Joseph Looney of Engine 26 died as a result of a heart attack while on duty. He died on 11/13/61 and we commerated the 53 years anniversary of his death
The band play at the Marine Corps 239 birthday at McGarvey's Oyster House in Annapolis.
November 8th 2014: Piper Dan Loughnane playing at Engine 3 for the Washington City Fire Department (a forerunner to DCFD) 150th anniversary.
November 8th 2014: Pipers Scott Blevins & Dan Loughnane playing for an Honor Flight of World War II veterans.
October 31st 2014: DC PIPES AND DRUMS playing at the DCFD Awards Ceremony. Congratulations to all the members who received awards for their service to the District of Columbia. & congratulations to new piper Chad Kelly on his first march, your hard work has paid off. Welcome aboard!
October 4th 2014: Piper Chaz Reynolds playing at Flanagan's Harp & Fiddled for the 1st Annual Armed Forces Appreciation Day.
