Once again the Band had the honor of marching in the flag during the opening ceremony of the IAFF Alfred K. Whitehead Legislative Conference.
Later in the evening we performed during IAFF Local 36's Hospitality Night at Old Engine 12 Restaurant, a recently renovated DC firehouse.
Parade season kicked off when the Band returned to Annapolis for their
5th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. Once again we had a great time and enjoyed some pints poured by Governor Hogan.

Battalion Chief, Piper, & Band Treasurer Robert "Bobby" Mullikin
retired from the Department on March 3, 2017 after 31 years of service. Chief Mullikin is a 4th generation DC Fireman and retired as a Battalion Chief of Special Operations. His Father retired a Deputy Chief in 1989, Grandfather retired a Deputy's Aide in 1962, and his Great Grandfather retired in 1941. His Great Grandfather was a technican and drove the horses before going to fire inspection! Chief Mullikin was named the Chief Officer of the Year at last years department awards ceremony. He will be greatly missed in the Department as he is leaving as one of the most respected Chiefs on the job. Congratulations Bobby and see you at practice!  The Emerald Society awarded the 2017 James E. Reilley Irish Innkeeper Award to The Knights of Columbus Father Rosensteel Council #2169.
The Band has held practices at the Knights since our formation. They open their doors for our annual Christmas party as well as other events. The Emerald Society's monthly meetings are now held there as well. The Knights welcomed us into their home and we are forever grateful. Congratulations & Thank You! The Band is gearing up for March.
